The Word of God. The Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, were written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit, are inerrant in the original manuscripts, and are our infallible rule for salvation, worship, and service. All Scripture centers on Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

One God. There is one true and living God, self-existent and eternal, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost — the same in essence, distinct in personality, and worthy of the same worship and obedience. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:18-19

Jesus Christ. Born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, offered His blood as atonement for sin, rose bodily from the dead, and is exalted at the Father’s right hand, where He intercedes for His own. He is Lord over all. Matthew 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:9-11

The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person who guides, teaches, convicts, and empowers. The works of God — creation, inspiration, the giving of life, and sanctification — are ascribed to Him. John 16:13; Job 33:4; 1 Corinthians 6:11

Man and Sin. God created man in His image as spirit, soul, and body. Through Adam’s transgression, all people are born without righteousness and inclined toward evil, and none can become children of God by their own goodness or works. Genesis 1:26-31; Romans 5:12-21

Salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a free gift, wholly apart from human works. The inward evidence is the witness of the Spirit; the outward evidence is a life of righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 8:16

Assurance and Security. A believer may have confidence of belonging to the family of God and possessing eternal life. When a person believes in Christ as Savior, that eternal destiny is fixed and secure. 1 John 5:13; John 10:27-30; Ephesians 1:13-14

Sanctification. Sanctification begins at regeneration and continues by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, prayer, self-examination, and self-denial. It is separation from evil and dedication unto God. 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:14

Water Baptism. Baptism by immersion is commanded of every believer who has repented and believed on Christ. In it we participate in His burial and resurrection and receive a circumcision of the heart. Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:11-12

The Lord’s Supper. The bread and the fruit of the vine are a memorial of Christ’s suffering and death, a symbol of our sharing in His divine nature, and a prophecy of His second coming. It is enjoined on all believers until He comes. Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit. This baptism is a vital experience for every believer, evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. It may occur at or subsequent to conversion and brings power for life and service. Acts 1:5-6; 2:4; 19:2-6

Gifts of the Spirit. The nine gifts of 1 Corinthians 12 should be operative in the church, imparted by the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:11

Divine Healing. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers, ministered through the laying on of hands and the anointing with oil. Isaiah 53:4-5; James 5:14-15

Deliverance. It is God’s desire to free His people from bondage — mental, physical, or spiritual. We have been granted authority in the name of Jesus to bring deliverance to others; our weapon is the Word of God and our battlefield is the spiritual realm. Mark 16:17; Ephesians 6:10-18

The Church. The Church is the Body of Christ, and every believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of it. The local congregation is God’s chosen vehicle for world evangelization and the nurture of Christians. We believe in the spiritual unity of all who are saved through the blood of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:3-10

The Ministry. The church is taught and led by apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, whose purpose is to equip God’s people for the work of the ministry. Those called to a specific work are recognized by appointment and ordination. Ephesians 4:11-13; Titus 1:5

Evangelism and Missions. The gospel includes a warning about sin, an explanation of God’s remedy, and a call to repent and believe. We are sent across geographical and cultural boundaries to reach those who have never heard. Mark 1:15; Romans 10:9-13

Marriage and Family. God created marriage as a covenant between a man and a woman that makes them one, requiring faithfulness for life. The family is the first and most important training ground for society. Genesis 2:22-24; Mark 10:3-10; Ephesians 6:1-4

The Believer’s Responsibility. Every Christian is called to be a priest unto God, offering praise and giving of time, strength, and possessions to His service — finding a place in the local church and ministering his or her gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ. Tithing is God’s financial plan for the support of His work. 1 Peter 2:5, 9; Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16:2

Moral Convictions. Human life begins at conception, and the unborn child is a living human being. A homosexual lifestyle is contrary to God’s Word and purpose for humanity; we are instructed to love those living such lifestyles while abhorring the sin. Scripture warns against the destructive power of alcohol, commands that our bodies not be mastered by anything, and calls believers to modesty in dress and behavior. Psalm 139:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9, 12, 19-20; 1 Timothy 2:8-10

Death and Final Judgment. At death, believers pass immediately into the presence of Christ in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the glorified body. The unbelieving remain conscious of condemnation until the judgment of the Great White Throne, when they are consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire. 2 Corinthians 5:8; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:11-15

The Blessed Hope. The resurrection of those asleep in Christ and their translation with those who remain is the imminent and blessed hope of the church. Christ will return visibly with His saints to reign on the earth for one thousand years, bringing the salvation of national Israel and universal peace. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13; Revelation 20:1-6

New Heavens and a New Earth. According to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21-22
